Horizon Consulting Africa Ltd. is a professional services firm based in Kampala, Uganda, specialising in business strategy, executive coaching, leadership development, and HR advisory. Founded in 2014, we serve individuals, SMEs, NGOs, and large corporates across Uganda and East Africa.

Our clients include Ugandan entrepreneurs, mid-level managers, senior executives, and organisations of all sizes — from small businesses in Kampala to large multinational NGOs and government institutions. We have served clients in over 12 sectors including finance, agriculture, education, health, and technology.

While our primary focus is Uganda, we work with clients across the East African Community including Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan. We also offer fully virtual services to clients worldwide who are interested in working with our Uganda-based specialists.

Coaching is a process that helps you discover your own answers through structured questioning, reflection, and accountability. Your coach believes you already have the capacity to grow — they help you access it. Consulting, on the other hand, involves an expert providing specific advice, analysis, and recommendations based on their knowledge. Horizon offers both, and many clients benefit from a blend of the two.

Our executive coaching programmes typically run between 6 and 12 months, with sessions held monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly depending on the programme. We do offer shorter-term engagements (4–8 sessions) for career coaching and targeted skill-building goals.

Yes. All Horizon coaches hold internationally recognised certifications from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Our head of coaching, Christine Atim, is an ICF Master Certified Coach (MCC) — the highest ICF credential, held by fewer than 4% of coaches globally. Our team includes ACC and PCC level coaches as well.

Absolutely. All coaching sessions are strictly confidential. We adhere to the ICF's Code of Ethics, which places client confidentiality at its core. The only exceptions — as with any professional service — are situations where disclosure is required by law or where there is risk of serious harm.

Yes. Several members of our coaching team are fluent Luganda speakers and can conduct sessions in Luganda, English, or a blend of both — whichever is most comfortable and effective for you.

This depends on the scope. A focused strategic planning workshop can be completed in 1–3 days. A full strategy review and development process — including data gathering, stakeholder interviews, analysis, and planning facilitation — typically takes 6–12 weeks. Enterprise-level ongoing advisory retainers can run for 12+ months.

Yes, and we have significant experience doing so. We understand the unique governance, accountability, and programme management demands of NGOs operating in Uganda. We have worked with international NGOs, Ugandan civil society organisations, and UN agencies, and we can adapt our services to suit grant-funded or donor-reporting contexts.

Absolutely. Our HR advisory services are designed for organisations of all sizes, including those with as few as 5 employees. We can help you put in place the minimum necessary HR structures — contracts, leave policies, disciplinary procedures — that comply with Ugandan law, while keeping things practical and right-sized for your business.

Yes. We regularly deliver workshops at client offices across Kampala and other Ugandan cities. We bring all necessary facilitation materials and can work with your available space. For larger groups, we can also help you identify and book an appropriate external venue.

Our open public workshops have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 30 participants. For corporate (private) workshops, we can design programmes for groups as small as 5 or as large as 150, depending on the type of programme. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Yes. Groups of 5 or more registering for the same public workshop receive a 15% discount per person. Groups of 10 or more receive a 25% discount. For organisations looking to send large teams, we also recommend considering a private corporate workshop, which is typically more cost-effective and can be fully customised.

Our pricing varies by service type and scope. Coaching programmes start from UGX 2.5 million per month. Individual workshops range from UGX 300,000 to UGX 900,000 per participant. Strategy consulting engagements are scoped and priced individually. We offer transparent, fixed-scope packages as well as monthly retainers. Please contact us for a personalised quote.

Yes. We accept payment via MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, bank transfer (UGX and USD), and major credit/debit cards. For corporate clients, we can also issue formal invoices for institutional payment processes.

We understand that investing in professional development is a significant decision. For longer coaching programmes and consulting retainers, we offer payment in monthly instalments at no additional cost. For workshops, full payment is required at the time of registration to secure your place.

Yes, completely free and with no obligation. Our 30-minute discovery call is an opportunity for both of us to determine if there's a good fit. Many of our best client relationships started with this simple conversation. There is no pressure, no sales pitch — just a genuine conversation about your goals.

Our main office is located at Plot 62 Kira Road, Bukoto, Kampala, Uganda. Bukoto is a central, accessible neighbourhood in Kampala, easily reachable by boda boda, taxi, or private vehicle. Parking is available on-site for clients with cars. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm, and Saturday by appointment.

Yes. All our coaching and consulting services can be delivered virtually via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. We have clients in Gulu, Mbarara, Fort Portal, and across East Africa who work with us entirely online. Virtual sessions are just as effective as in-person and are offered at the same rates.
